Opened in 2016, the Regal Learning Centre equips anyone in the security industry – Technicians, Installers, System Integrators and Sales consultants – with the technical skills and knowledge they need to be a success in this field.
Each specially designed course empowers the attendee to make better product choices before installation, and ensures best practice is employed when helping their Customers secure their businesses and homes.
Our tech-based courses are geared towards helping System Integrators and Installers understand the security equipment sold by Regal, as well as how to install, configure and support these products.
What to expect
All our training is facilitated through our new LMS (eLearning platform).
The following courses are available within the LMS:
Understand what electricity is made of, how it flows and its parameters. Use simple formulas to do basic electronics calculations while using the numbering system to make values simpler and unmistakable. Understand how some electronics components work, their purpose and where to use them. Know the importance of electronics such as relays and switched to ensure they are properly used within relevant circuits. Understand the purpose and method of using a multimeter for testing and troubleshooting.
Learn about Access Control Theory and biometric principles. Understand how to read equipment specifications and how that relates to performance with the customer's needs and requirements in mind. Learn how to wire a reader or controller to a lock, power supply and other access control peripherals or accessories to ensure a working solution. Discover the utility of managing the access control equipment through central management software called ZKAccess 3.5.
Understand how Ajax components communicate with each other and how it can be used on a small to large scale. Learn how to fully program the system from the comfort of your mobile device with advanced features, integration to 3rd party IP cameras / NVR’s / DVR’s.
Understand the Risco solutions and components that may be used for small or large-scale installations. Learn about the components that make up the alarm system along with how to connects and configure those devices. Understand the communication technology used within the system and Learn to setup an installer cloud account to manage all your customer sites, while customers manage their own equipment through a smartphone app and end-user cloud. also learn about integrating IP cameras and smart home automation for added value and security.
Understand what CCTV is and how it will benefit the user. Learn about the important components of a camera, along with each components function and purpose. Acquire knowledge to properly conduct a site survey in order to select the correct equipment for a CCTV solution, with the site and customer's needs and requirements in mind. Learn about transmission media, recording equipment, monitors and best installation practices, along with technical competence.
Understand network fundamentals, as well and the importance of a healthy physical network infrastructure, and communication settings. Learn to connect IP cameras and NVR to the network, along with activation, configuration and connectivity. Also learn two methods to setup remote access to the CCTV system.
Understand the wireless link concept and learn about the frequencies used in wireless communication, along with the components that allow a wireless link to operate. Learn about link specifications and specific equipment to understand how the correct equipment is chosen for a particular wireless link. Lean how to adjust setting to fine tune the link in order to achieve stability and maximum performance. Discover useful software for planning long links and the proprietary software used to manage the wireless link devices. Understand best practices and considerations for wireless equipment choice and installation.

Facilitated by Regal, Hikvision will provide meaningful endorsements to those who pass and become Hikvision Certified. The Hikvision Certified Security Associate (HCSA) level certification focuses on training participants in essential configurations, operations & maintenance of Hikvision video surveillance products & its features. It is designed for technical engineers who have worked in the security industry and who have already gained some knowledge of security basics.
